An Extra Set Of Eyes On The Road And, If Need Be, An Extra
Foot On The Brake When You Drive.
EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology is the culmination of everything Subaru engineers know about safety. Adding confidence to every trip, EyeSight monitors traffic movement, optimizes cruise control, and warns you if you sway outside your lane. The Pre-Collision Braking feature can even apply full braking force in emergency situations, helping you avoid or reduce frontal impacts.
When equipped with EyeSight, all 2018 Subaru models receive the highest possible rating for front crash prevention by the IIHS and Euro NCAP. EyeSight is available on select Subaru XV, Impreza, Legacy, and Outback models.
The core of the EyeSight system is its set of dual color cameras. Intelligently and unobtrusively placed near the rear-view mirror, they scan the road for unanticipated dangers.
This advanced system provides extra awareness, safety, and added peace of mind every time you drive. Watch the videos below to see how each component of EyeSight works together to bring you a safer road ahead.
Pre-Collision Braking System
If a risk of collision is identified, your Subaru will warn you of the impending collision ahead. If you cannot apply your brakes in time, EyeSight will apply full braking force to avoid or reduce a front end crash.
Adaptive Cruise Control
EyeSight has transformed the concept of traditional cruise control. The stereo cameras operate in concert with the engine, transmission and braking systems to ensure that your Subaru maintains a set distance behind the car in front, making adjustments for distance. The system is extremely convenient on long drives or peak hour traffic even in stop-and-go movement.
Lane Sway & Departure Warning
Driving fatigue can lead to a driver unintendedly swaying around their lane. When EyeSight detects that, and the car’s speed is approximately 60 km/h or more, it provides an audible warning and indicator light to help you stay on track. Your Subaru will also will alert you if the system detects that the car begins to stray into the next lane.
Pre-Collision Throttle Management
If you mistakenly select drive instead of reverse when the car is stopped or traveling very slowly, and EyeSight detects an object in front of the car, Pre-collision Throttle Management emits warnings, flashes the lamp and restricts engine output. This will help you avoid a nasty mishap at the front.
